I had a little time to spare this evening, while a Vue render was running for a client, I finally had a chance to take this beast out and do some tweaking. New Year Resolution - GET THIS DONE lol! Right now I'm just concentrating on the structure, hence the material being gone. I'm thinking to totally re-do the materials too with BodyPaint 3D.

As always, Cinema 4D :thumbsup:

Looks like A LOT of polys, I'm guessing a lot of the structure is instanced?

Nope, straight modeling. A little less than 4.2 million poly's right now. Runs smooth as hell in Cinema 4D. I'm modeling it in straight poly's, no instances, as it will then be exported for use in various other platforms on Foundation 3D.

yeah, for instanced the 'rings' around the main structure, it's only one object, duplicated along a spline or whatever, except if you change the base object all the copies change too, because they are only instances of the base object! :) (at least, that's my guess...)
