A test render of an upcoming product I am working on, though I think I may re-do the leaves. These are Crepe Myrtles - the one on the left is flowering.

I love crepe myrtles. Maybe you could do a third version with an even higher ratio of flowers to leaves. Sometimes I see them so smothered in flowers that you can barely see any green at all...But rather a pink/purple/orange etc mass that stands out from the common trees a mile away 
speaking of colour variations, if you are clever you can change the flower colour without the leaf colour for the maps in Photoshop, and make versions for the major colours, whilist only needing the one alpha map for them all since they would have the same outline...I did that with my own, I made a Japanese maple for all seasons each with a different leaf map but all fitting the same alpha map
