B5 Warlock Destroyer WIP 29 by 2753Productions B5 Warlock Destroyer WIP 29 by 2753Productions
People are generally 'visually oriented' so at times the sheer scale of something that they have not seen - in relation to an object that they are familiar with - escapes them.

Therefore the reason for this render...

Earth Alliance Warlock Destroyer - 1992.4 meters

Star Trek (Pre-refit) Constitution Class Cruiser (Enterprise NCC-1701) - 289 meters

Boeing 747-400 Airliner - approximately 70.6 meters

As always Cinema 4D

1,992.4 meters is wrong.  The Warlock is a minimum of 2,980 meters in Length.  The Star Fury is claimed to be 17.3 meters wide, in Severed Dreams a Star Fury collides with an Omega directly above one of the red silo's.  The Star Fury is pretty well the same size as the red silo without the square border.  Which gives the hanger a height of about 38 meters and width of about 100 meters (this is the size of the hanger off of the Omega).  When you compare the red silo's on the Warlock they are the same as the Omega.  This calculation gives the Omega a length of 2,207 meters with antenna's.

When the Star Furies leave the hanger, the hanger appears to be enormous.  If Star Furies left the hanger wing tip to wing tip I would guess at least 5 high and 8 wide, but that would make the Omega 10,000's of meters in length.

So one way to check things is use the Earth's Atmospheric shuttle.  That thing is as big as a 747 (with wing span and tail and engines hanging out the back.  If you can fit that through the hanger door with lots of room, you should be close on the size.

Also in the series the White Star apparently has an illusive  hanger in the lower rear somewhere.  Yes I saw it for myself, you can see to Minbari fighters in this hanger and it looks like there is enough room for a third Minbari fighter.  Not only that but you can see the captain's of the White Star's using an Earth's Atmospheric to transfer into the White Star in Hyper Space.  If you're careful you can see the Atmospheric shuttle come out of the rear bottom of the White Star, an then there's the box shuttle that Marcus escaped in with Suzan after the Advanced Destroyers wiped out 29 White Stars.  The Earth Atmospheric shuttle has got to be almost the same size as the White Star....

Your assumption is wrong, I will continue to go by what is considered canon.  Oftentimes in films and compositing there are mixups and in order to "get the shot" things happen causing these size relationships you noticed.  By your assumption and "calculations" then in these following two frames from The Empire Strikes back then an Imperial Star Destroyer would be what... about 100 meters in length?

Actually that is a wrong assumption I am afraid. In the Babylon 5 universe the "destroyer" class is a capital ship (at least in Earths case). We today tend to class ships by size and tonnage, its never said so in the series but I assume Earthforce classes by function instead (or the shows developers simply went with destroyer because it sounds more dangerous)

Wow! This looks amazing! Love the humongous scale of that ship!

I have to ask you a question. I've been looking for a colony ship design for a story I've been wanting to write for years now. Do you take requests by any chance?

So In the Pranking got it wrong? Have to figure that Earth Destroyers are larger.

What's the crew compliment suppose to be?

Not really sure what you are saying in the first part of this... Pranking? What or who is that? Specs for this came directly from various fan sites, and detailed technical drawings came from the original concept artist for this ship.

Crew compliment is:

Crew: 1200
Troop Capacity: 80,000

or

42 Star Fury fighters.

Its a Polish fan movie about a Star Trek/Babylon 5 cross over. Sure I got the name wrong.

The full movie is about two hours.

"Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning" is the title of this Finnish fan film. It was directed by "Iron Sky" director Timo Vuorensola and it was his first film.

Thanks for the link, well there was nothing to 'get wrong' in their film as far as a Warlock goes, they did not have one in there. Mostly Omega Class Destroyers, which are smaller than Warlocks and Whitestars (small but powerful ships). The size representations I saw in their film were fair, I think they had some of the Star Trek ships too big in relation to the Victory Class ships (B5) which are just under 3km in length whereas the largest Star Trek ship represented in the film was the Sovereign Class at 685 meters.

A couple of hundred meters longer - the Omega is 1714 meters while the Warlock is 1992 meters ;)

I see. I'd hate to run into a battle group of Omegas then, being led by a behemoth Warlock.

ohhh yeah, had a run in with one when I was hardcore eve...it sucked...(it didnt get me, its buddies did)...
But oddly, I'd still rather take a Fleet of Impstars including an Executor class into battle...maybe with an Eclipse class Star Destroyer for back up...*drool*
